First, I want to apologize for my blog lately. I haven’t been able to post a new recipe in a while, which I feel extremely bad for. However, I have a recipe this week that I just have to share with you. This recipe will make up for the lack of activity on my blog lately, I promise. If you are looking for a delicious recipe to try, I have one for you.
Copycat recipes seem to be gaining popularity among people. I have featured one on my blog a few months ago, No Bake Twix Cookies. This was one of my most successful and delicious recipes yet. Not to mention, these cookies definitely tasted like Twix bars, which was the whole point of a copycat recipe. So, I wanted to create another copycat recipe and share it with you all.
I enjoy dabbling with different recipes in my kitchen. Over the last few months of my blogging experience, I’ve had a lot of fun trying new things. One of the foods I’ve enjoyed focusing recipes around is tofu. Granted, I’ve only posted one other recipe with tofu in it, Chocolate Silken Mousse. This was one of the first recipes I ever posted on my blog. In the spirit of that recipe, I made a new recipe involving tofu and chocolate.
You may have noticed by now that I love pasta dishes. Pasta itself can be higher in calories. I definitely don’t advocate high calorie dishes on my blog. So, I like to pair pasta with lower calorie sauces. It is so easy to make low calorie sauces that are rich in flavors. This way you have a hearty pasta and a flavorful, low calorie sauce that doesn’t make you feel guilty for eating a hearty dish.
It’s no secret I love one pot meals. I’ve made quite a few on this blog because they are just too easy. It’s really easy to take traditional favorites and re-make them into one pot dishes. This post is no exception to that. Lasagna is one of my favorite Italian dishes. I’ve even made one on this blog. However, sometimes I don’t like layering the ingredients because I get lazy. This one pot lasagna fixes that challenge.
Recently we have had some warm days around here. Warm days mean a warm kitchen. A warm kitchen means I don’t typically want to bake because it’s going to get too hot. So, to remedy this situation I wanted to experiment more with “no bake” recipes. I have a couple no bake recipes sprinkled throughout my blog, but they are cookies. This time, I wanted to make a no bake cake.
Once upon a time ago, I hated broccoli. My mom was a broccoli with cheddar cheese sauce fan when I was growing up, but I just couldn’t eat it. If I can’t eat a vegetable smothered in cheese, it’s probably not meant to be, right? Well, fast forward to last year. I saw a recipe for a broccoli and cheddar soup. It actually looked really good. So, I wanted to try it for Soup Sunday. I can’t tell you enough how worried I was about making a big batch of broccoli and cheddar soup. I mean, I hate broccoli right? Well, this soup changed my tune on broccoli.
Another Soup Sunday has come and gone. However, this Sunday was a little different. I made a chili for Soup Sunday. Now, do you consider chili a “soup?” I mean, in the soup section of a cookbook would you find chili? I feel like chili would be in the soup family. I digress, this week I made a killer chili for Soup Sunday. This chili combines a few flavors in one amazing dish. It’s a bonus that you make this in the crock pot, and it’s wonderfully easy.
Since I starting blogging, I have branched out and tried many new things I never thought I would. The real turn of events is I have liked nearly all of the foods I was sure I would hate. Weird how that works. Please hold the “I told you so’s” until after this blog is finished. Anyway, one of the foods I once hated but now love is cauliflower. I have a few recipes on here featuring this versatile vegetable (Crock Pot Cheesy Buffalo Cauliflower, Creamy Cauliflower Soup, and Cauliflower Buffalo Wings). However, none of these cauliflower recipes are as easy as the one that follows. If you love mashed potatoes, you are in for an amazing treat.
Well, everyone’s favorite day of the week has come and gone yet again: Soup Sunday! OK, maybe it isn’t everyone’s favorite day of the week. I definitely love Sundays though. I look forward to making soup each week. Whether it be an old favorite or a new soup, the weekly tradition in our house has become something I look forward to each week. Not only are soups generally easy to make, they tend to be lower in calorie. This soup is so easy and one of the, if not the, lowest calorie soups I’ve made yet.
