First, I want to apologize for my blog lately. I haven’t been able to post a new recipe in a while, which I feel extremely bad for. However, I have a recipe this week that I just have to share with you. This recipe will make up for the lack of activity on my blog lately, I promise. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: sometimes foods just need a sauce. Sauces enhance flavors that you may not have even picked up on before. I said this back in February about my Greek Yogurt Ranch Sauce. So I wanted to add another sauce to the Jolly Crumbs repertoire. This sauce combines two of my favorite ingredients: garlic and cheese.
Some recipes are so easy to make, you may wonder why you never have before. I’ve posted a few recipes on here that only require a handful of ingredients. I never even thought about making some of these recipes until I stumbled upon them. This post features another easy recipe. This one contains a few ingredients, most of which you probably have in your pantry. However, it requires only three steps and a crock pot. I’m not lying; only three steps separate you from a delicious side dish!
I have come across a few recipes which stop me in my tracks. This was one such recipe. I was entranced by the cheesy look of this flatbread. Now, this isn’t a traditional flatbread. It is made from puff pastry, so it is incredibly flaky and buttery. It’s also topped with some delicious things. Since I starting blogging, I have branched out and tried many new things I never thought I would. The real turn of events is I have liked nearly all of the foods I was sure I would hate. Weird how that works. Please hold the “I told you so’s” until after this blog is finished. Anyway, one of the foods I once hated but now love is cauliflower. I have a few recipes on here featuring this versatile vegetable (Crock Pot Cheesy Buffalo Cauliflower, Creamy Cauliflower Soup, and Cauliflower Buffalo Wings). However, none of these cauliflower recipes are as easy as the one that follows. If you love mashed potatoes, you are in for an amazing treat.
Well, everyone’s favorite day of the week has come and gone yet again: Soup Sunday! OK, maybe it isn’t everyone’s favorite day of the week. I definitely love Sundays though. I look forward to making soup each week. Whether it be an old favorite or a new soup, the weekly tradition in our house has become something I look forward to each week. Not only are soups generally easy to make, they tend to be lower in calorie. This soup is so easy and one of the, if not the, lowest calorie soups I’ve made yet.
Happy Valentine’s Day! Instead of posting a recipe related to something romantic or something Valentine-y, I promised you a post on breadsticks. Now, this may not seem like a post fit for Valentine’s Day. However, these breadsticks are the Crock Pot Pot Pie Soup’s soul mate. These breadsticks are the soup’s one true love. And I love these breadsticks. What could be better than a post based on a love between foods, two foods I happen to love together?
One of my coworkers inspired this post, and she doesn’t even know it. She mentioned that she was looking for pesto sauce at the store one day and couldn’t find it. I told her she could make her own. I have no idea if she actually did, but my own advice stuck with me. I’ve never made pesto sauce, so it was only right if I tried making it myself. After all, I did suggest it to her, blindly.
I love meals that are easy to make and don’t require a lot of prep work. Sometimes I don’t have a lot of time to make intricate dinners, and sometimes I just don’t feel like spending a long time in a hot kitchen. One meal that typically doesn’t require a ton of time to make is pasta. I usually go for spaghetti and red pasta sauce. However, I have recently developed a love for pasta and white sauce. There is a problem with this though. White sauce, or Alfredo sauce, is high in calories. I developed a yummy one pot pasta with garlic and white sauce that is lower in calories to solve all my problems!
