You all know how much I love easy recipes. Combine an easy recipe with something saucy, cheesy, and filling and I’m interested. Very interested. I also love classic dishes with a slight twist to them. So, I wanted to share a very classic dish, spaghetti with red sauce, but made in a slightly different way.
You may have noticed by now that I love pasta dishes. Pasta itself can be higher in calories. I definitely don’t advocate high calorie dishes on my blog. So, I like to pair pasta with lower calorie sauces. It is so easy to make low calorie sauces that are rich in flavors. This way you have a hearty pasta and a flavorful, low calorie sauce that doesn’t make you feel guilty for eating a hearty dish.
I am all about easy dishes, which you probably know by now. I don’t see much sense in making dishes that others can’t easily do themselves. So, this main dish focuses on being easy and simplistic. In fact, you only need three ingredients to make a delicious dish. It also requires little prep time and not a lot of bake time. So, if you are a busy individual, you may appreciate this simple, yet delicious dish!
It’s no secret I love pasta. It’s also no secret I love cheese. Put those two together and you have a delicious combination. Normally, I love red sauce on pasta. However, I made a delicious One Pot Garlic and White Cheddar Pasta back in November that was killer. That pasta totally changed my tune on Alfredo sauce. Since I am new to the Alfredo sauce scene, I wanted to experiment with flavors in the sauce. This Alfredo is definitely exciting and different, also it is totally delicious.
One of my coworkers inspired this post, and she doesn’t even know it. She mentioned that she was looking for pesto sauce at the store one day and couldn’t find it. I told her she could make her own. I have no idea if she actually did, but my own advice stuck with me. I’ve never made pesto sauce, so it was only right if I tried making it myself. After all, I did suggest it to her, blindly.
Well, we all know I love pasta. It’s like I have a pasta disease, really. I just can’t help it. Pasta is a weekly must for me. I find pasta filling and definitely worth the calories when it is done correctly. I tried a little different pasta dish this week. It’s based around hearty rigatoni and creamy cheese. Yes, big surprise I used cheese. It’s also a disease I have… There is no cure for pasta and cheese disease. However, this dish comes pretty darn close at healing my ailments.

This may seem like an odd post for Christmas, but I think all food is perfect during the holidays. One of the most comforting foods, to me, is pasta. Pasta is one of my favorite foods. I especially love it in casseroles when it is melty and cheesy. This recipe does just that!
I love Italian food. Pizza and pasta are two things I could never give up eating. While pasta isn’t necessarily lower calorie, it is very filling, and you can do a lot of things with it. Soup Sunday is honestly one of my favorite things to look forward to during the week. I love no fuss dinners that don’t typically require a ton of work. It recently became colder and snowy here in Nebraska over the weekend, so soup was the perfect meal. Not only does soup make a wonderful dinner, it makes yummy lunches for the next few days. So, I decided I wanted to try a soup that combined two of my favorite things- cheesy pasta and tomato soup.

There is a problem with this though. White sauce, or Alfredo sauce, is high in calories. I developed a yummy one pot pasta with garlic and white sauce that is lower in calories to solve all my problems!
